IJ Start Canon Pixma TS3320 Printer Setup– The Canon PIXMA TS3320 is a basic, non-decorative elements, inkjet all-in-one printer. Priced at just $39, this entry-level template offers printing, scanning and copying. The TS3320 keeps the function simple, using only two ink cartridges (black and Tri-Color) instead of individual cartridges. You won’t find any of the fancy add-ons you’ll see on the best printers. For example, there is no second input tray for the photo paper, an automatic document feeder (ADF) for multi-page copying, nor a duplex printing to perform duplex prints.
You can connect to the TS3320 wirelessly, or via the USB port. The printer is compatible with mobile devices using the company’s Android/iOS app, although I was able to get an iPhone 7 to work (more on that later).
Design
The TS3320’s PIXMA control panel is located at the top of the body of the device, to the left of the scan bed. There are a few physical buttons: two of them start a wireless connection to either a network or smartphone, respectively. Two additional buttons appear – on the small liquid crystal screen (LCD) – either in the settings menu or in the status information. The small, 1.5-inch monochrome display has no light, and can be difficult to read in a low-light space. Other than the simple copy function, you’ll most likely want to operate the TS3320 from a PC, rather than standalone.
The paper is loaded onto the 60-Sheet paper tray on the back of the unit. The tray can also hold up to 20 sheets of 4-by-6-inch photo paper or 10 sheets of 5-by-7-inch photo paper. Should you use glossy photo paper; the printer does not support the matte paper, although it works with more exotic magnetic and reglue varieties.
The output tray pulls out of the front of the printer, under a large recess in the body. To replace ink cartridges, you can reach into this cavity and fold a cover to reveal the ink cartridge socket.
The TS3320 is neither compact nor extremely large for an inkjet printer all in one. With paper trays hauled, it measures 17.2 inches wide by 12.5 inches deep; It’s five.8 centimeters tall. With the discs expanded, the TS3320 becomes 21.8 inches deep and 8.4 inches tall. Missing a double and ADF, this unit is pretty light, in an eight-and-a-half.
This model comes in black, white or red.
Print speed
The TS3320 was unable to complete our photo printing speed test, for which we do a full-page print onto letter-size photo paper (more on it later). So I did 4-by-6-inch photo prints instead, for comparison.
The TS3320 made 4-by-6-inch glossy prints in 2 minutes and 1 second. By comparison, most models we’ve tested were faster, although some were slower. Among the fastest models were the Canon PIXMA MG3620, which printed a 4-by-6 in just 43 seconds, and the HP Tango X, in 1 minute and 15 seconds. However, we’ve seen slower printing as the now-interrupted Epson XP-420, which took nearly 3 minutes to complete the same task.
Copy and scan the speed
Color copying was slow. The TS3320 is the second slowest inkjet model in color copy that we have tested in this category. In 47 seconds, he was well behind the average of 27.8 seconds. Only the HP Tango X was slower in 1 minute and 11 seconds. The selection of the Canon PIXMA TS9120 author made a color copy in just 17.3 seconds in our tests—almost three times faster than the TS3320.
Black and white copy ing was more in range, but still somewhat slow in 19.2 seconds, compared to the average class of 15.8 seconds.
The TS3320 made a 600 dots per inch (dpi) color scan in JPEG format at about average speed. In 1 minute and 1.7 seconds, he came in below average 1 minute and 7.7 seconds. By comparison, the selection of the canon ts9120 author did the same scan in just 37.8 seconds.
